This website will feature Catholic music that is written and performed by Catholic musicians. We will feature music reviews, interviews with musicians and a forum will be set up to promote the discussion of topics that are of interest to Catholic musicians. There are many websites that feature Christian metal bands; we wish them well with their ministry.  This website is intended to promote Catholic Metal bands and artists whose music reflects the truth of Christ that is revealed in his Catholic Church.

The essence of metal music's energy combined with that of the Holy Spirit can be summed up by our motto, "Praising Him loudly!". The potential that this musical form has of delivering Christ's message and fulfilling the call to evangelize (which Pope John Paul II said was so necessary) might prove Catholic Metal music to be one of the most powerful.

Fiat Lux...

“The cosmic excursion in which Dante, in his “Divine Comedy”, wishes to involve the reader, ends in front of the perennial Light that is God himself, before that Light which is at the same time “the love that moves the sun and the other stars” (Par. XXXIII, v. 145). Light and love are one and the same. They are the primordial creative powers that move the universe.” – Pope Benedict XVI

HAPPY EASTER!

I hope that everyone is having a great Easter!  I wanted to share some thoughts about Easter with you and try to relate these thoughts to our community and our communal musical vision.

The King is asleep...

In these last hours of Holy Saturday, may we all reflect on the superabundance of God's love poured out for us through the pieced Heart of Christ.  Here is the link to the official video of "XIV" taken from the Via Crucis album...http://youtu.be/sUz3aHsFmc0Blessings to all!Paul Tiseo/THEANDRIC

"Via Crucis" will be played on the Aussie Hour radio show!

Hi All!

I wanted to let you all know that "Via Crucis" will be played in its entirety on the Aussie Hour on Good Friday from 7:00am-11:00am ET.  The album will be played interspersed throughout the show, not in a single chunk.  My friend Necromanicide (and approximately 50% of Last Rites fanbase :) runs the show from Australia.  He plays a wide variety of Christian metal from around the world with a heavy emphasis on Australian bands.  I would suggest you all go check it out :):

Another "Via Crucis" review!

Thanks to Mike Brumley and Mike from Seven Sorrows for making me aware of this review from http://catholiconceagain.blogspot.ca

Seven Sorrows: The Fourth Sword

Hello Everyone!

The CDs have finally arrived at Last Rites Central and are heading out to all those that pre-ordered.  Shortly, we should have the album available in all of the usual digital distribution channels as well.  We will keep you posted on that.  Until we have the order button set up on Catholicmetal.com site, please go to Phrygian Phish.

Lent - a Time of New Beginnings

I hope everyone is enjoying the Lent season....I always feel like  giggling when I say that since as a child I was taught that Lent was a time of sacrifice where you had to "give up" something...seems far from enjoyable.  As we grow older we start to realize that the sacrifices that we make are nothing compared to the ultimate sacrifice that Jesus made.  Through His immense pain and suffering He was able to save us all into new life.

Catholic Metal – The novelty and the necessity of the New Evangelization

Hi Everyone!

That seems to be the way that I open all my blogs, here and over at Phrygian Phish.  Oh, you haven’t been by there, yet?  Oh you should!  I’ll give the link at the end.  But first, the title theme and material is more important.
